Basketball Recap: Poston Butte Takes a Loss

Poston Butte lost against Peoria back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Poston Butte Broncos came up short against the Peoria Panthers, falling 68-45. The Broncos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Poston Butte still got an impressive performance from Lauren Hansen, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 13 points and five rebounds. Hansen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Sophia Polder was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Peoria's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cieraka Lynch, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, nine boards, and nine steals. Another player making a difference was Michelle Kogbara, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Poston Butte now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Peoria, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3.

Poston Butte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-41 win against Combs on the 9th. As for Peoria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 50-31 victory against Coconino on the 10th.
