Basketball Game Preview: Germantown Red Devils vs. Southwind Jaguars

Germantown and Southwind are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but not for long. The Germantown Red Devils will host the Southwind Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 60-7, which was the final score in Germantown's tilt against Collierville on Tuesday. The contest marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Southwind took on Arlington on Tuesday. Southwind came up short against Arlington, falling 56-33.

This is the second loss in a row for Germantown and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Southwind, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Germantown against Southwind when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 50-22 victory. Does Germantown have another victory up their sleeve, or will Southwind turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
