Softball Game Preview: Port St. Lucie Jaguars vs. Central Cobras

Port St. Lucie is 0-10 against Central since March of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Port St. Lucie Jaguars will head out on the road to face off against the Central Cobras at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Port St. Lucie is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 17 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Master's Academy on Thursday. They lost 16-1 to the Patriots.

Port St. Lucie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lydia Agosta, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Agosta hit this season.

Meanwhile, Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Treasure Coast, falling 21-6. One positive for the Cobras, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Port St. Lucie, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5-1.

Port St. Lucie might still be hurting after the 12-1 defeat they got from Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Port St. Lucie avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
