Baseball Recap: North White Vikings vs. North Newton Spartans
North White had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-10 to make it six. They lost 18-4 to the North Newton Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 on Tuesday.
As for North Newton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 11 runs.
For North Newton's part, Nick Bartrom looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bartrom has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, North Newton let Koye Viers and Korbyn Haberlin run wild.
