Volleyball Game Preview: Mountain Island Charter Raptors vs. Woodlawn Trailblazers

The Mountain Island Charter Raptors are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodlawn Trailblazers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Island Charter has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 10.

Mountain Island Charter came up short against Lincoln Charter on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-20, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Woodlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of North Mecklenburg. While the Trailblazers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Vikings 25-14 in the first set.

Woodlawn started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 14-25, 21-25, 25-19, 25-18, 15-9.

Woodlawn's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Mountain Island Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mountain Island Charter might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Woodlawn in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Raptors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
