River Islands is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against Venture Academy, falling 11-1. The game marked the Riptide's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Turlock Christian lost 8-1 to Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Friday.

Winston York put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

Turlock Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for River Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.
