Baseball Recap: Holy Cross Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Holy Cross challenged Nelson County on Wednesday. Holy Cross fell 8-3 to Nelson County. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Holy Cross saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Basham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Basham's first of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Holy Cross and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Nelson County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-3-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will face off against Spencer County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Nelson County, they will square off against Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
