Baseball Recap: Chalmette Takes a Loss

The matchup between Chalmette and Fontainebleau on Saturday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Owls lost 18-1 to the Bulldogs. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Chalmette saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jace Zornes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.

Chalmette's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Fontainebleau, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-11.

Coming up, Chalmette will look to defend their home field on Monday against Gonzaga at 4:00 p.m. Fontainebleau will be paying especially close attention to the Owls' game: after the Owls face off against the Eagles, they'll take on Fontainebleau again at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
