Baseball Recap: Catasauqua Comes Up Short

Catasauqua was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jim Thorpe Olympians.

Catasauqua saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asael Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Catasauqua's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Jim Thorpe, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Catasauqua will square off against rival Lehighton at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jim Thorpe is set to face off against their familiar foe Moravian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
