Baseball Recap: Whittemore-Prescott Comes Up Short

Whittemore-Prescott dropped to 9-4 on Monday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Tawas Area Braves, falling 10-4. If the Cardinals were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Braves when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Tawas Area, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

For Tawas Area's part, Jared Lorenz looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Lorenz a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Leif Guillotel was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Mason Michalski was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Tawas Area beat Whittemore-Prescott by a score of 8-3 later that day.
