Rutland scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a 60-27 loss at the hands of the Morgan County Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 68th).
When it comes to explaining why Rutland lost, don't look at Tyson White. Despite the final result, he threw for 228 yards and two TDs on only 13 passes, and also rushed for 80 yards on only 11 carries.
Christian Monfort had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 239 yards and three scores while picking up 8.5 yards per carry for Morgan County. Monfort is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Davis Strickland, who threw for 208 yards and four touchdowns.
Rutland's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Morgan County, they pushed their record up to 7-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
