With a playoff win on the line, Whitney Young rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Niles West Wolves 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Dolphins as they're now sitting on nine straight.

Liani Delgado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Whitney Young's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Itzel Jaime, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Whitney Young's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-10-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Niles West, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-17.
