Baseball Game Preview: Seminole Ridge Hawks vs. Palm Beach Gardens Gators

Seminole Ridge hasn't had much luck against Palm Beach Gardens recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Seminole Ridge will head out to face off against Palm Beach Gardens at 6:30 p.m. Seminole Ridge's pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so Palm Beach Gardens' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Seminole Ridge is headed into the contest having just posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over Somerset Academy - Canyons. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Luke Vento was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Seminole Ridge is undefeated when Vento posts two or more runs, but 5-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brandon Turner, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Palm Beach Gardens can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against Jupiter Christian as Palm Beach Gardens made off with a 17-11 victory. The Gators not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 4th.

Palm Beach Gardens let Mason Ryder and Alex Lorenjatos run wild. Ryder got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and five RBI, while Lorenjatos went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Lorenjatos a new career-high. Ian Vertucci was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

Palm Beach Gardens was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Seminole Ridge's record now sits at 11-7. As for Palm Beach Gardens, their record now sits at 7-10.

Seminole Ridge was able to grind out a solid win over Palm Beach Gardens in their previous matchup last Friday, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seminole Ridge since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
