Soccer Game Preview: Montevallo vs. Shades Valley

The Montevallo Bulldogs will face off against the Shades Valley Mounties at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Montevallo will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Montevallo's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Sipsey Valley 10-0. Considering Montevallo have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Shades Valley entered their contest against Pell City on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Mounties lost 3-0 to the Panthers. Shades Valley have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Montevallo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four games. As for Shades Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5-2.

Montevallo might still be hurting after the 4-1 defeat they got from Shades Valley in their previous meeting back in March of 2015. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
