Basketball Recap: Lehigh Piles Up the Points Against Riverdale

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lehigh). They blew past the Riverdale Raiders 75-10 on Tuesday. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Lightning had established a 58 point advantage.

Lehigh got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Rianne Smith out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine steals. Smith's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terryah Lawson, who went 11 of 20 on her way to 23 points and three steals.

Lehigh smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

The victory made it two in a row for Lehigh and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Riverdale, their loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Lehigh didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-37 win against East Lee County on the 13th. As for Riverdale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 76-2 defeat against Gateway on the 13th.
