Softball Recap: Southwest SD Comes Up Short

Southwest SD was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Montgomery Aztecs, falling 11-4. The Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Aztecs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Southwest SD saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samantha Ramirez, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Mykaela Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Southwest SD's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Montgomery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Coming up, Southwest SD is taking a road trip to take on Monte Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest SD is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season. As for Montgomery, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-10 win against Lincoln on the 10th.
