Football Recap: Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes vs. Cedar Shoals Jaguars
While Monroe Area put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Cedar Shoals. The Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes claimed a resounding 38-0 victory over the Cedar Shoals Jaguars at home. Given the Purple Hurricanes' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Jaguars are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Monroe Area to victory were Forrest Ross and Jitt Carr. Ross rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while Carr rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

As for Cedar Shoals, they will look to take advantage of their home-field for the first time this season as they take on Stephens County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Stephens County focused on turnovers this week as team gave up four on Friday.
