Baseball Recap: Bay City Comes Up Short

Bay City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Brazosport Exporters. The Blackcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Exporters from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Bay City saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aaron Burciaga, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Bay City's loss dropped their record down to 6-12-2. As for Brazosport, they pushed their record up to 9-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Bay City will face off against El Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ricebirds' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Blackcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brazosport, they will square off against Wharton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
