Preview: Combs Coyotes vs. Arizona College Prep Knights

Combs is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Arizona College Prep is on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Having just played yesterday, the Combs Coyotes will get right back to it and host the Arizona College Prep Knights at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully Combs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Monday.

On Monday, Combs was able to grind out a solid victory over Tempe, taking the game 60-53.

Combs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaimin Amador, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Amador is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Tuckfield, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Arizona College Prep came up short against Eastmark on Thursday and fell 66-54.

Despite their defeat, Arizona College Prep saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Zach Cutler, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Cutler pulled down eight or more rebounds. Justice Moore was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.

Combs' victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Arizona College Prep, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-4.

Fans should be in for an exciting game on Tuesday as the pair are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Combs hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 65.4 points per game. However, it's not like Arizona College Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 54.4 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.

Combs came up short against Arizona College Prep in their previous meeting last Monday, falling 57-52. Will Combs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
