The Mayfield Panthers will challenge the Schoharie Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Schoharie took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Mayfield, who comes in off a win.
Mayfield will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Golden Knights 10-3. Considering the Panthers have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Miles Meher
Grady Shea and Miles Meher made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Shea tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Meher pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has become a key player for Mayfield: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise. At the plate, Shea went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Meher went 1-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Meher a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carter Goodemote, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Mayfield is undefeated when Goodemote posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Schoharie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Canajoharie/Fort Plain, falling 8-1.
Gordon Plank was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits.
On the hitting side, Schoharie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Corrodore, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Schoharie's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Mayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Mayfield suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Schoharie in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
