Baseball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to the Battle Ground Tigers. The Thunder were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Mountain View saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brendon Lawson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Battle Ground, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

Mountain View and Battle Ground could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. The Thunder will face off against Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (189 vs. 42). Meanwhile, Battle Ground (ranked 93rd) will meet Seton Catholic (ranked 27th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
