Softball Recap: Freeport Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Freeport put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Yarmouth Clippers by a score of 6-2. For the Falcons, this counts as revenge for the 17-4 win the Clippers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Black, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ali Brown, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Yarmouth, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Freeport will head out to face off against Lake Region at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lakers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Yarmouth, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Poland at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season.
