Ridgewood has been struggling as of late, and they have yet to win a game this season. They came up short against the Elgin Maroons on Monday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Ridgewood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Elgin are ranked 73rd).

Ridgewood's loss dropped their record down to 0-4-2. As for Elgin, they pushed their record up to 10-0-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Ridgewood wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 6-0 defeat against Elmwood Park on the 15th. As for Elgin, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-2 victory against Lake Park on the 16th.
