Basketball Recap: Lytle Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jourdanton, Lytle was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They strolled past the Dilley Wolves with points to spare, taking the game 34-20. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lytle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Arianna Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lunna Reyes, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 boards.

Lytle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive games.

Lytle's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-16. As for Dilley, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-18.

Lytle will venture away from home to square off against Poteet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dilley has already played their next match (against Hondo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
