David Scariano commands the offense for Tigers win

Recap: Imperial Tigers vs. Calexico Bulldogs

Even though the Calexico Bulldogs scored an imposing 64 points on Monday, the Imperial Tigers still came out on top. Imperial snuck past the Bulldogs with a 69-64 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Imperial.

Imperial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from David Scariano, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Scariano has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Nixon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Calexico saw an underclassman step up: Dany Carreon scored 27 points. Sabino Martinez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Imperial is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-15 record this season. As for Calexico, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.

Imperial will head out on the road to square off against the Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palo Verde Valley is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Calexico will take on the Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Vincent Memorial has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
