Recap: Legacy Lightning vs. Brighton Bulldogs
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely the Legacy Lightning's strategy against the Brighton Bulldogs on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Legacy blew Brighton out of the water with a 58-27 final score. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Legacy has managed all season.
It was another big night for Olivia Mortensen, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Legacy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Allshouse, who scored 22 points along with nine rebounds.
Brighton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Emily Rivas, who scored eight points along with four steals. Rivas hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
The victory (which was Legacy's third in a row) raised their record to 5-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Brighton, they are on a 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
