Hiram sees their postseason come to a close

Recap: Hiram Hornets vs. Jefferson Dragons

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Hiram Hornets can now relate to. They suffered a rough 42-21 loss at the hands of the Dragons on Friday. Hiram's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Tyler, who picked up 135 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Da'Shaun Williams, who rushed for 116 yards.

Sammy Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Jefferson, rushing for 354 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 17.7 yards per carry, and also throwing for nine yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes.

Hiram's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Jefferson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Hiram does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Jefferson will head out on the road to face off against Harris County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Harris County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
