Baseball Game Preview: Half Moon Bay Cougars vs. Mills Vikings

Half Moon Bay is 8-2 against Mills since March of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Half Moon Bay Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Mills Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Half Moon Bay will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Carlmont, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Half Moon Bay walked away with a 5-2 victory over Carlmont on Tuesday.

Kai Kung spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Half Moon Bay is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 0-3 otherwise.

At the plate, Riley Jackson was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

Meanwhile, Mills can bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against South San Francisco by a score of 8-5. The Vikings' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Givanni Angelini, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one double. Those RBI were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendrick Choi, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Mills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South San Francisco only posted a batting average of .250.

Half Moon Bay's record now sits at 2-4. As for Mills, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
