Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Northview Knights
The Cascade Cadets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Northview by a score of 50-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Cascade has suffered yet this season.
Cascade's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Austin, who scored seven points. Lilly Hall was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Brynlee Clarke was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 rebounds for Northview. Clarke hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Schrader, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Cascade bumped their record down to 7-10 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Northview, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.
Cascade will head out on the road to challenge Cloverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Cloverdale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Northview, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Putnam at 6:00 p.m. South Putnam will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Northview is ranked 104th).
