Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Metrolina Christian Academy had won three straight games and Alaina Griffin did her part to make it four on Friday. The Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors greeted the New Year with with a 49-31 win over the Hickory Grove Christian Lions thanks in part to Griffin, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Metrolina Christian Academy's points.

Jenna Carlson was another key player, putting up three points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Despite the loss, Hickory Grove Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lauren Feaster dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Metrolina Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Hickory Grove Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-7.

Metrolina Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-55 loss against North Raleigh Christian Academy on the 4th. As for Hickory Grove Christian, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Concord Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 14th.
