Softball Recap: Pattonsburg Panthers vs. Mercer Cardinals

While Pattonsburg put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Mercer. Everything went the Pattonsburg Panthers' way against the Mercer Cardinals as the Pattonsburg Panthers made off with an 11-0 win. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by six runs or more this season.

Addison Iddings was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Iddings was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Pattonsburg got a massive performance out of Katelyn Jones, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Jayden Goble was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Pattonsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pattonsburg's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. As for Mercer, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
