Basketball Recap: Ozanam's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Ozanam's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against Frontier STEM by a score of 49-41. The victory was some much needed relief for Ozanam as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Ozanam's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but A.W. Poke led the charge by dropping a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Poke has scored at least a third of Ozanam's points. Ty Fallert was another key player, putting up six points and 15 rebounds.

Ozanam smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Ozanam's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Frontier STEM, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Ozanam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 55-53 loss against Frontier School of Excellence on the 12th. As for Frontier STEM, they will venture away from home to challenge Independence Home School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Independence Home School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.4 points per game this season.
