Soccer Game Preview: Crested Butte vs. Telluride

The Crested Butte Titans will challenge the Telluride Miners on Saturday. One thing working in Crested Butte's favor is that they have posted at least four goals in their last four matchups.

Crested Butte is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Dawson School get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Crested Butte's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Meanwhile, Telluride beat Colorado Springs Christian 2-0 on Wednesday.

Obi Clarke and Thomas Mahoney scored both of the Miners' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 29 goals.

Crested Butte is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 35 goals over those six matchups. As for Telluride, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Everything went Crested Butte's way against Telluride when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Crested Butte made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
