Volleyball Recap: Wilkes-Barre Falls Despite Big Games from Tijan Njai and Jordany Rodriguez

After a string of three wins, Wilkes-Barre's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the Delaware Valley Warriors, falling 3-0. The Wolfpack were not able to make up for their loss to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in June of 2023.

While Wilkes-Barre was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-16, 25-22.

Despite the defeat, Wilkes-Barre had strong showings from Jordany Rodriguez, who had 12 digs and 11 kills, and Tijan Njai, who had seven digs and one block. Rodriguez has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 17 times he's played. Reylie Ramirez was another key player, getting eight digs, six kills, and one block.

Wilkes-Barre's loss dropped their record down to 14-11-2. As for Delaware Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Wilkes-Barre does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delaware Valley, they will challenge Valley View at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
