Soccer Game Preview: Harlandale vs. Southside

The Harlandale Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Southside Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Harlandale is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They came up short against Jay, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Mustangs are ranked 143rd).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southside's offense. They fell 2-0 to MacArthur on Tuesday.

Harlandale's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Southside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Harlandale beat Southside 2-0 when the teams last played back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harlandale since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
