Volleyball Recap: Shelbyville Comes Up Short

Shelbyville lost against Corrigan-Camden on Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Dragons came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 3-0. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Shelbyville ultimately came up short, they really made Corrigan-Camden work, particularly in the first set. The final score came out to 29-27, 25-13, 25-22.

Cori Lawson paced Shelbyville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Lawson got some help from Jayleigh Jones and her 17 assists. Jones was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Shelbyville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Corrigan-Camden, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-12 record this season.

Shelbyville will face off against San Augustine at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Corrigan-Camden has already played their next contest (against Colmesneil), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
