Football Recap: Thomas Walker Comes Up Short

Thomas Walker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 48-6 loss at the hands of the Happy Valley Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 326th in Virginia, while the Warriors are ranked 146th in Tennessee).

Clay Cheek threw for 55 yards and one touchdown. Jordan Fraser was his top target, picking up 42 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Jesse Hatfield rushed for 29 yards.

Thomas Walker's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Happy Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Thomas Walker will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harlan at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Happy Valley, they will challenge Hancock County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
