Basketball Recap: Byrd Comes Up Short

Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 51-22 defeat at the hands of the Benton Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Tigers are ranked 65th).

Byrd's loss dropped their record down to 2-22. As for Benton, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 19-10.

Byrd will take on Pineville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Benton has already played their next contest (against Haughton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
