Football Recap: Schuyler Takes a Loss

Schuyler had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-7 to make it seven. They were beaten by the O'Neill Eagles 70-0. The Warriors lost against the Eagles in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 55-14 score last time.

As for O'Neill, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead O'Neill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grady Welke, who rushed for 64 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Welke showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braxen Eichelberger, who gained 50 total yards and three touchdowns.

Schuyler has already played their next contest, a 23-22 victory against Wayne on the 17th. As for O'Neill, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 37-7 win against Scotus on the 17th.
