Basketball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs vs. South Granville Vikings

Durham School of the Arts lost against South Granville last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs were beaten by the South Granville Vikings 75-32. Shawne Dowdy and Ashton Patterson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Dowdy went 8 for 13 to rack up 18 points and six rebounds, while Patterson posted four points. It was another big night for Mason Brown, who went 12 of 15 on his way to 26 points for South Granville. Another player making a difference was KJ Terry, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Durham School of the Arts and nudges their season record down to 3-17. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 17-2 Southern School of Energy and Sustainability (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 84.7% over those games). As for South Granville, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Durham School of the Arts wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-31 loss against Louisburg on the 5th. As for South Granville, they have also already played their next match, an 83-68 defeat against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability on the 7th.
