It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Union had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They beat Falkner by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-1. Considering West Union has won 14 contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was West Union's fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Falkner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-12.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: West Union beat Falkner by a score of 11-0 on Monday.
