Volleyball Recap: Ludlowe Comes Up Short

If Ludlowe was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of McMahon on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ludlowe took Bridgeport Central into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-17, 23-25, 18-25, 19-17.

Despite the loss, Ludlowe still got an impressive performance from Richard Kim, who had 25 digs and one assist.

Ludlowe has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Bridgeport Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Ludlowe will be playing in front of their home fans against Warde/Ludlowe at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bridgeport Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Harding at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Hilltoppers are facing the Presidents at the right time seeing as the Presidents are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
