Oconomowoc typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Waukesha West proved too difficult a challenge. They had just enough and edged out the Raccoons 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Raccoons last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 defeat.

Nolan Schmidbauer and Brock Goral did most of the damage at the plate: Schmidbauer got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Goral went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Goral a new career-high.

Waukesha West has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Oconomowoc, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waukesha West will host Union Grove at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Oconomowoc, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mukwonago at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
