Volleyball Recap: Bay Port Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Bay Port couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the West De Pere Phantoms by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Phantoms earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Taylor Neuenschwander paced Bay Port's offense, picking up 19 kills. Neuenschwander got some help from Meghan Bruss and her 40 assists. Ayla Colombo controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

With the defeat, Bay Port broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 24-8. As for West De Pere, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-7 record this season.

Bay Port does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West De Pere, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Kimberly on the 1st.
