Softball Recap: Garnet Valley Comes Up Short

Garnet Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 6-3 to the Phoenixville Phantoms. That's two games in a row now that the Jaguars have lost by exactly three runs.

Garnet Valley got a good showing from Ashlyn Thompson, who struck out six batters over four innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Zoey Rogers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. Madison Lynam was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with three stolen bases.

Garnet Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garnet Valley will welcome Avon Grove at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Phoenixville, they will challenge Upper Moreland at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
