Basketball Game Preview: Lanier Christian Academy Lightning vs. Horizon Christian Academy Warriors

The Lanier Christian Academy Lightning will challenge the Horizon Christian Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanier Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Lanier Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past West Hall, posting a 60-26 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lightning as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lanier Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Roberts, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Adelyn Gough, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 15 points and three steals.

Lanier Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Horizon Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 49-39 to South Paulding.

Lanier Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Horizon Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Lanier Christian Academy was taken down by Horizon Christian Academy 60-23 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Lanier Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
