Baseball Recap: Plainview's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Plainview had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Everything went their way against Singer as they made off with a 19-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 on March 1st.

Dallas Harrison looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Plainview is 3-1 when Harrison allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 6-8 otherwise.

At the plate, Gavin Perkins was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Austin Snyder, who went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Plainview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matches.

The victory got Plainview back to even at 9-9. As for Singer, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Coming up, Plainview is taking a road trip to take on Simpson on Monday. As for Singer, they will be playing at home against Starks at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Starks has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something Singer will no doubt try to take advantage of.
