Softball Recap: Exeter Takes a Loss

Exeter came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Reedley Pirates, falling 22-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Monarchs of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Taylor Brandt made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Exeter's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Reedley, they moved to 6-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Exeter has already played their next contest, a 13-9 victory against Avenal on the 12th. As for Reedley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-3 win against Orange Cove on the 12th.
