Football Recap: Village Comes Up Short

The Village Vikings had to suffer through a 53-10 loss at the hands of the Covenant Christian Cougars. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Covenant Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady McDaniel led the charge by picking up 105 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 107 yards and one touchdown on only 12 carries. Another passer making a difference was Preston VanHouse, who threw for 102 yards and a pair of TDs.

Village's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Covenant Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Village will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frassati Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. As for Covenant Christian, they will face off against St. Paul at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
