Basketball Game Preview: Waverly Vikings vs. Mount Michael Benedictine Knights

The Waverly Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Mount Michael Benedictine Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Waverly is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, Waverly came up short against Gretna and fell 61-48.

Waverly's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Ashton Heffelfinger, who posted 13 points, and Cooper Happold, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Those 12 points gave Happold a new career-high. Carter McMillan was another key player, putting up five points.

Meanwhile, Mount Michael Benedictine was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 48-42 to Platteview. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Waverly's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Mount Michael Benedictine, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
